COALITION FOR THE DIGNITY AND RIGHTS OF IMMIGRANTS
The Coalition for the Dignity Rights and of Immigrants (CODEDI) is a grassroots community based organization that serves and is run by Latin American and Caribbean immigrants who live and work in Southwest Ohio. CODEDI is an independent, 501c(3) non-profit organization, without religious or political affiliations. CODEDI works for the holistic integration of the Latino immigrant community by fostering immigrant leadership and civic participation though education, organization and action. CODEDI also works with established communities and organizations in the area to help them better understand and work with the immigrant community.

CODEDI was founded in January of 2004 with the participation of more than 600 immigrants in response to President George Bush’s proposed immigration reform policy. Since that time, CODEDI has been working to promote the integration of the Latino immigrant community on many levels.

Our mission is to promote the integration of the immigrant community in Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky by strengthening leadership and promoting civic participation by immigrants as they adapt to a new culture, learn laws affecting them and gain a deeper understanding of issues they face so that they can effectively promote a healthy and holistic integration into the local community and promote humane government policies that will benefit immigrants and members of the established communities alike.
